HPS Announces Robert Terra as Managing Director

Washington, DC – Hamilton Place Strategies is pleased to announce the addition of Robert Terra as a managing director. Terra will be serving clients in both the communications and policy practices of HPS. Additionally, Terra will be joining the leadership of HPS’ Crisis Communications practice, drawing on years of experience managing campaign war rooms to bring political rapid response capabilities to HPS clients.

Prior to joining HPS, Terra worked as Director of Strategic Initiatives for Governor Mitt Romney’s Presidential campaign. Earlier in his career, Terra worked for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as Deputy Press Secretary and Communications Director of the Governor’s DC office. Additionally, he managed the war rooms for Governor Schwarzenegger’s 2006 reelection campaign and Senator John McCain’s 2008 Presidential campaign. As part of his work with clients at HPS, Terra will be deploying and implementing these same rapid response tactics.

HPS Launches HPS Advocacy and Names Lauren Crawford as Partner

Washington, DC – Hamilton Place Strategies is excited to announce HPS Advocacy, a new practice offering clients an extensive suite of grassroots capabilities in all 50 states.  Lauren Crawford, who joins the firm as partner, will lead the new practice.

HPS Names New Senior Analyst

Washington, DC- Today, Hamilton Place Strategies (HPS) welcomes Patrick Sims, who will serve as senior analyst. Sims will coordinate and direct research for HPS, and provide insight to clients in the regulatory landscape.

Sims joins HPS from Charlottesville, VA, where he acted as a lead research analyst in the financial institutions’ group at SNL Financial LLC; specializing in financial analytics, demographics, and mergers and acquisitions. Earlier in his career, Sims served at the CFA Institute as a company liaison to CFA Charterholders, candidates, and members.

HPS Names Rustin Silverstein Managing Director for Legal Crisis Communications

Washington, DC – Hamilton Place Strategies is pleased to welcome Rustin Silverstein as managing director in the firm’s legal crisis communications practice.

Prior to joining HPS, Silverstein worked as an attorney at the law firm of Steptoe and Johnson and as a management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Earlier in his career, he served as the press secretary for former Democratic Congressman Tim Roemer of Indiana and as a producer for MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews.

Kate brings over five years of Capitol Hill experience in planning and executing strategic communication endeavors.  Most recently, Kate served as Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe (R-ME). In that role, Kate led the drafting and distribution of statements, op-eds and on the record comment on the Senator’s behalf. Prior to her time with the Senator, Kate served as Communications Director to former Congresswoman Mary Fallin (R-OK).

Kate’s policy experience includes serving as Legislative Assistant to Former Congressman Christopher Shays (R-CT), where she oversaw a wide array of domestic policy issues, including Financial Services Committee work during the 2008 financial crisis. Kate began her career as a Staff Assistant on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce supporting work on student lending and higher education issues. Daniel Son comes to HPS with five years of experience on Capitol Hill.  He most recently served as Communications Director for U.S. Representative Sean Duffy (WI-07). Previously, he held the same position with U.S. Representative Charles Djou (HI-01). In those roles, Daniel served as a spokesman and led the press team developing communications strategy and messaging.
