Ashley Smith, Senior Associate
Ashley Smith is an Associate at Hamilton Place Strategies who works closely with clients to help them achieve their strategic communications and public policy goals. She surveys and tracks client issues in the press, conducts background and policy research, and is responsible for the distribution of news releases and other written materials. She also directs social media efforts for the firm and is an Associate Editor for the policy discussion website www.rooseveltroom.net.
Ashley spent her final year at Southern Methodist University working at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. While there, she provided support for four policy-based Institute conferences and the inaugural Foundation event, the unveiling of plans for the Presidential Center. In addition, she worked with staff across correspondence, events, and development departments.
Ashley also has experience on Capitol Hill in the office of Congressman Scott Garrett. While in the congressman’s office, she worked closely with the Communications Director to monitor financial press coverage and issues the House Financial Services Committee would be examining in the future. Additionally, she provided support to legislative staff and communicated with constituents on a daily basis.
