Daniel Son, Director

Daniel is an experienced communications professional specializing in forming, pitching and defending messages through both traditional and new media. He brings his expertise and dedication to bear for clients who need help developing and executing media campaigns at the local, regional and national level.

In his short time at HPS he has established himself as an excellent writer, regularly writing press releases, speeches and op-eds. He works with the national media on a near-daily basis and has secured high-level media interviews on TV networks like CNBC, Bloomberg, Fox Business, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, as well as nationally syndicated radio programs and other major outlets like Politico. As a Director, Daniel provides everything from broad strategic advice to tactical execution for a broad range of clients with diverse communications needs, from large trade associations, to national coalitions, to best-selling authors.

As a veteran of Capitol Hill, Daniel is comfortable with managing all aspects of messaging around a wide range of complex issues. He worked for nearly five years in the House of Representatives for multiple Members of Congress, and led communications efforts dealing with historic legislative action, like healthcare reform, Dodd-Frank reform, the federal budget, debt ceiling negotiations and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition to his official Congressional experience, Daniel has volunteered for a political campaign in every election cycle since 2006, gaining invaluable experience in grassroots mobilization and coalition management.
