Noah Chestnut, Director

Noah Chestnut brings extensive knowledge about digital communications, with experience in higher education, think tanks and the private sector. He designs engagement and user growth strategies utilizing organic, earned and paid digital media. His work in growing viral messages has been cited by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, Huffington Post, Mashable and others. He is a member of Quora’s inaugural Top Writer’s group.
Most recently, Noah served as the Director of Digital Media for the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), a non-partisan policy institute studying terrorist ideologies. At FDD, Noah led a complete overhaul of FDD’s digital media strategy, including its website and social media channels. During his tenure, FDD’s digital reach more than quadrupled during Noah’s leadership.
Prior to joining FDD, Noah was a research assistant at the Center for Public Diplomacy (CPD) at the University of Southern California (USC). At the CPD, he created and added over 500 articles to the Public Diplomacy Wiki, the first and largest wiki dedicated to the study of public diplomacy. At USC, Noah was an editor of the inaugural issue of Public Diplomacy, presented research about the State Department’s social media policies before the National Communications Association and was an argument coach for USC’s nationally recognized debate society.
