Biography

Jim David is a managing director at Hamilton Place Strategies. He advises senior management teams on a range of complex communications matters, including M&A, crises, and regulatory issues. Over the course of his career, he has worked with clients across all industries, most notably alternative asset management, financial services, energy, and healthcare.

Prior to joining HPS, Jim was a managing director at Kekst and Company in New York. At Kekst, he worked with Fortune 500 companies, leading private equity firms, and others on high-profile M&A, bankruptcy/restructuring, and activist shareholder assignments.

Jim has a Ph.D. in history from the College of William and Mary and a B.A. magna cum laude from Boston College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He is the author of Dunmore’s New World (University of Virginia Press), a book about political culture in the era of the American Revolution focused on the last royal governor of Virginia.
